Exp 3 Mash up & 4 Image of Draft Environment
“Function" didn't mean merely "utility" or
"pragmatic use." The architect's
task as finding “a way to incorporate and integrate differences, the thing is not to fill the space but to use it
sparingly with simple forms, not through compromise or by choosing sides, but by tying
conflicting interests into a Gordian knot of new ideas." That from ever follows function. This is the law. The role of architecture in changing society as making it fit into our wishes. Although, many may argue that
minimalism is a cool concept, the truth is that it is more comfortable, based
on the "less is more" concept quiet and sober spaces.

Danish & Research for the two architects
Dorte mandrup-poulsen
Concept : Variations of space, Sculptural and Industrial
Final monument concept: Humanism
Dorte Mandrup graduated from theAarhus School of Architecture in 1991.
From 1991–92 she studied sculpture and ceramics at the G.S.C Art Department in theUnited States. She then went to work for Henning Larsen Architects for a few years
before, in 1995, co-founding Fuglsang & Mandrup-Poulsen with Niels Fuglsang. This firm was eventually split in 1999 when Mandrup set up her current
practice, Dorte Mandrup Arkitekter. It was founded on 30 June 1999 and is based
in Copenhagen.
I think Dorte Mandrup-Poulsen is a revolutionist in the
architectural history, as she brings us a lot different views of architecture.
Karen Clemmensen
Final monument concept: industrial
Karen Clemmensen was born into an artistic family. Her
father Holger Mundt (1887–1957) was an architect and her mother, Harriet
Fischer-Jørgensen (1889–1975), a painter. After completing her schooling at
Sønderborg Statsskole in 1935, she attended the Danish Academy until 1942. From
1939 to 1941, she worked part time for Kaj Gottlob, also a successful
architect.
Karen Clemmensen is a humanism
architect, and she pays a lot attention on the surrounding natural environment
when doing design.
